Binary-lens Microlensing Degeneracy: Impact on Planetary Sensitiity and Mass-ratio Function
Published in The Astronomical Journal, 2025
By simulating a complete set of parameters in 2 lens event, we find that for a pure-survey statistical sample, the 2L1S degeneracies reduce the overall planetary sensitivity by 5%–10%, with the effect increasing at higher planet-host mass ratios.

The Effect of Resonance on Stability in a Planetary System
Published:
Resonance usually means stable in planetary dynamics. However, I found an interesting phenomenon in our Solar System. In Kuiper belt, resonant orbits are crowded with objects. However, in the asteroid belt, there are so-called “kirkwood gaps”, which are unstable and rarely host objects. This contradictory fact made me explore the truth of both belts. Finally, I found that kirkwood gaps are special because they are actually the overlap resonant orbits of both Mars and Jupiter, making them unstable. See a draft here.
Presentation on Microlensing Technique
Published:
Invited by Tsinghua Xuetang Talents Program, I gave a presentaion to share my research experience in microlensing. I introduced the basic idea of microlensing technique, and then shared my research process. Finally, I introduced an fascinating microlensing scenario – a common envelop structure. Although the probability of detection is rather slow, this plain physical scenario is worth to study and explore.
Proposal for TOI-544b: A Water-World in Radius Valley?
Published:
As the final project of this graduate course, my presentation focused on an interesting exoplanet TOI-544b, which was regarded as a potential water-world with a radius coincidentally located in the so-called “radius valley”. Detailed observation of its atmosphere can help to judge potential mechanisms of the formation of “radius valley”. An interesting question we met when preparing this presentation is that we found in NASA website, the inclination of TOI-544b makes it unable to transit, althought this exoplanet was found by transit method/TESS, probably indicating a technological error on website and reported by us already. See the slides(Chinese) here.
